Athletes from Kenya and Ethiopia win Inner Mongolia's marathon fair

HOHHOT, Inner Mongolia, Aug. 15 (Xinhua) -- Kenya's Kibent Collins and Ethiopia's Megersa Megertutafa won the men's and women's marathon respectively in 2014 Ulanqab International Marathon that ended on Friday in Ulanqab City of north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

Kibent Collins clocked two hours, 35 minutes and 34 seconds for the men's crown and Megersa Megertutafa took the women's title in 2:55:34.

A total of nearly 1,500 runners from Tanzania, Kenya, Russia, China and other countries and regions participated in full marathon, half marathon, ten kilometers race and 5.5-kilometer-mini run.

The fair was co-sponsored by Chinese Athletic Association, Inner Mongolia Sports Bureau and Ulanqad city government.
