Wang Yi: China-Mongolia Relations Face Important Development Opportunities

When holding talks with Foreign Minister Luvsanvandan Bold of Mongolia in Ulan Bator on June 24, 2014, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said that the current China-Mongolia relations face important development opportunities.

Wang Yi said that China always puts the development of relations with Mongolia at an important place in its neighborhood diplomacy. Nowadays, China and Mongolia share unprecedentedly interconnected interests, unprecedented depth and breadth of cooperation and development opportunities. China is willing to make joint efforts with Mongolia to seize the current important opportunities and strengthen high-level exchanges to clarify the development direction, major tasks and basic ideas of the bilateral relations in the next period at a strategic level, so as to promote the China-Mongolia relations to a new era of development.

Wang Yi said that China and Mongolia are good neighbors, good friends and good partners. China will uphold the concept of neighborhood diplomacy of "amity, sincerity, mutual benefit and inclusiveness", and continue developing good-neighborly and friendly relations with Mongolia. China is willing to join hands with Mongolia to enhance strategic mutual trust, promote practical cooperation, expand people-to-people and cultural exchanges, and strengthen multilateral cooperation, so as to constantly enrich the connotation of China-Mongolia strategic partnership.

Bold said that the Mongolia-China relations are in the best period in history. Mongolia is willing to strengthen communication and exchanges with China, consolidate mutual understanding and trust, promote practical cooperation and personnel exchanges, and enhance cooperation under the international and regional frameworks.

Both sides also exchanged views on regional and hotspot issues.
