Wang Yi: China-Mongolia Economic and Trade Cooperation Should Take Connectivity and Major Project Cooperation as a Priority

On June 24, 2014, Foreign Minister Wang Yi, in his meeting with President of Mongolia-China Joint Committee on Economic and Trade Cooperation on the Mongolian side and Deputy Prime Minister of Mongolia Dendev Terbishdagva in Ulan Bator, expressed that China-Mongolia economic and trade cooperation should take connectivity and major project cooperation as a priority.

Wang Yi said that China and Mongolia are friendly neighbors and natural cooperative partners. The two countries, which are highly complementary in economy, are fully capable of achieving common development with mutual benefits and win-win results. The Chinese side highly values economic and trade cooperation with Mongolia and hopes to make concerted efforts with the Mongolian side to keep in line with the principle of "three-in-one and coordinated promotion" and to take connectivity and major project cooperation as a priority. We also hope to work with Mongolian side to deepen cooperation in fields such as communication and transportation, mining and power industry, energy resources, finance and investment, and launch a batch of landmark cooperation projects in a concentrated way, so as to accelerate the development of bilateral economic and trade cooperation.

Terbishdagva said that the stable development of China brings significant opportunities for Mongolia. Thanks to the care from leaders of both countries, the two sides have achieved concrete results in bilateral economic and trade cooperation and enjoy a broad prospect for development. The Mongolian side is willing to strengthen cooperation with China in the field of connectivity and to actively discuss cooperation on major projects.
