Mongolia-Poland commission for economic cooperation to meet

Ulaanbaatar, June 19 (MONTSAME) The first meeting of the Mongolia-Poland joint commission for the economic cooperation will be held June 22-24 in Ulaanbaatar.

It has been co-organized by the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MNCCI) and Poland’s Agency of Information and Investment (PAII). Participation is expected of Polish companies engaged in mining, construction, road, transportation, communications, foods, agricultural industries, environment, energy, light and heavy industries and consulting.
Apart of this, a Mongolia-Poland business forum will run on June 23 at the “Corporate” hotel at the MNCCI. 

Remote soums connected to high speed optic cables

Ulaanbaatar, June 19 (MONTSAME) The “Prime Minister’s 30 minutes” weekly meeting was held Thursday with an online meeting to accept the use of the Internet service in remote soums.
In frames of the “Reforms and renovation of IT and communications” project, about 9,000 km high-speed optic cables and transmission stations were installed in 150 soums, which means that 90% of all soums of  Mongolia have got provided with the high speed Internet and online services.
During the meeting, the Premier N.Altankhuyag met online with civil delegates of Bayankhongor aimag’s Jargalant, Bayan-Olgii's Tsagaannuur, Sukhbaatar’s Tumentsogt, Omnogobi’s Khurmen and Bulgan’s Teshig soums and congratulated them on getting the Internet.
Opportunities have increased thus to run for most remote places online trainings and meetings and to make diagnosis, the PM noted.

Printing house of Russia’s AHEIC opens its branch

Ulaanbaatar, June 19 (MONTSAME) The Association for Higher Education Institutions of Construction (AHEIC) of Russia has opened its branch at the Mongolian University of Science and Technology (MUST).
An opening ceremony on Wednesday at the MUST’s library were B.Ochirbat, a rector of the MUST; P.Jargaltuya, a deputy director of the MUST in charge of external relations affairs; Ch.Baasandash, MUST deputy director in charge of scientific affairs; N.S.Nikitina, a director-general of the AHEIC’s printing house; Ch.Gulnar, a director of the MUST library. During the ceremony, the sides shared views on how the MUST will exploit the AHEIC’s online data center.
Ch.Gulnar has been appointed a director of the MUST-based AHEIC printing house’s leader.

Foreign Minister receives Ambassador of Uzbekistan

Ulaanbaatar, June 19 (MONTSAME) The Minister of Foreign Affairs L.Bold Thursday met Mr D.D.Kurbanov, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Mongolia.
Mr Bold congratulated Kurbanov on presenting the credentials to our President and on becoming the Ambassador to Mongolia. He noted that a new era is starting for the Mongolia-Uzbekistan relations, and underlined a potential the two countries have to develop the cooperation in trade, economy, sciences and education.
In response, Mr Kurbanov emphasized that the countries have historical ties and promised to put all efforts to expand the bilateral cooperation. He highlighted an importance of fortifying the economic cooperation in order to widen the partnership relations and collaboration.

Stock exchange news for June 19

Ulaanbaatar, June 19 (MONTSAME) At the Stock Exchange trades held Thursday, a total of 2,904 shares of 22 JSCs were traded costing MNT 11 million 384 thousand and 213.72.
"Khokh gan” /1,171 units/, "APU" /601 units/, "Aduunchuluun” /240 units/, "E-trans logistics" /200 units/ and "Genco tour bureau” /200 units/ were the most actively traded in terms of trading volume, in terms of trading value--"UB hotel” (MNT six million and 160 thousand), "APU" (MNT two million 138 thousand and 550), "UB-BUK” (MNT one million), "Darkhan nekhii” (MNT 546 thousand) and "Aduunchuluun” (MNT 432 thousand).
The total market capitalization was set at MNT one trillion 549 billion 845 million 118 thousand and 874. The Index of Top-20 JSCs was 15,296.70, increasing by MNT 170.42 or 1.13% against the previous day.

UN Assistant Secretary General Visits Mongolia

June 19 (infomongolia.com) Assistant Secretary General of the United Nations and Director of the Regional Bureau for Asia and Pacific at the United Nations Development Program, Haoliang Xu paid a working visit to Mongolia on June 16-20, 2014.
During his visit, Mr. Haoliang Xu paid courtesy calls on the Parliament Speaker Z.Enkhbold and the Prime Minister N.Altankhuyag. He also held bilateral meetings with Minister for Foreign Affairs L.Bold, Minister of Economic Development N.Batbayar and Minister of Environment and Green Development S.Oyun respectively to discuss bilateral cooperation issues.
Besides, attending a national discussion themed “Enhancing Role of Private Sector in Sustainable Development”, Director Haoliang Xu worked in Dundgovi Aimag, where he got acquainted with the implementation of “Strengthening Capacity of Local Self-Governance Body” and “Water Supply Improvement” projects, reports the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia.
