Mongolia, United States Sign Transparency Agreement

ULAANBAATAR (Mongolia), Sept 26 (Bernama) -- Mongolia's Minister of Foreign Affairs, L.Bold, and the United States Trade Representative, Michael Forman, on Tuesday signed an agreement on transparency in the international trade and investments between the two countries in New York, Mongolia's MONTSAME news agency reported.

During the ceremony, the parties underlined that the agreement has made an important step to expanding and strengthening the bilateral trade and economic relations.

Both parties also said that the agreement will contribute to the widening of Mongolia-US commercial and economic ties and the increase of US' investments to Mongolia, making it a basis for launching free-trade talks between Mongolia and US.

After the ceremony, Bold exchanged views with Forman and the Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs, Daniel R.Russel, on enhancing the bilateral relations, including the economic cooperation, and on measures to be realised based on the agreement.
