Tuvan throat singer Sainkho Namtchylak to perform in Mongolia

The throat singer Sainkho Namtchylak is to perform in Mongolia on April 28th. She is renowned in the west but less well-known in the east. The performance will be held once at the ILoft Function house at 7:00 pm on April 28th.

Tuva born, Sainkho Namtchylak represents a unique phenomenon of world vocal culture combining archaic singing techniques; the vocal techniques of people of Siberia and the Far East.

The music she performs includes avant-garde jazz, electronic music, contemporary compositions, using Tuvan heritage, Tibetan chanting and music of different people of the world.

She has lived in the music world since 1989 performing on her own.

Sainkho`s grandmother influenced her greatly to encourage her to become a talented singer with rich material.

She graduated from Moscow Ippolitov-Ivanov Music Institute, in the folk music section, then Aspiranture at the Gnesinsky Institute in the national department. This gave her a good start on the way to conquering the successful name of Bjork of the East.

She has been in “WOMEX”, one of the biggest international music projects and has toured in the US, Spain, Canada, Australia, the Philippines and New Zealand.

She is the holder of more than 30 albums. Her first album “Transformation of Matter, DOCUMENT” was recorded in Britain.

At the performance “Mother Earth, Father Sky” by Sainkho Namtchylak in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolian folk rock bands Altan Urag, Mohanic and Unicorn are also to perform.
