Robocon 2013 awards team from Science and Technology University

Robocon 2013, the National Robot contest, was held on Thursday April 25th at the Wrestling Palace in Ulaanbaatar city.

The best 16 teams from 10 national universities, institutes and colleges competed in the contest this year.

In the final round of the contest a team named “Magnet Boy” from the School of Computer Science and Management at the Mongolian University of Science and Technology won by defeating a strong competitor, team “Unitel-1” from the School of Information Technology at the National University of Mongolia.

The winners of Robocon 2013 were granted the right to compete in the International Robocon Contest in Vietnam in the autumn.

The winner, Magnet Boy, explained the name of their team as “A history of Magnet boy, game play for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad made by Mongol Content LLC is inseparable from robots. Magnet boy`s highly dynamic figure can express our desire so we named the team so. We are crazy about the game because it`s very attractive and the game play is in a Mongolian version.”

As well as awarding the winner of the contest, Robocon 2013 also named the team who developed the best remote control for a robot. The Magnet Boy team from the School of Computer Science and Management also won in this category.

The team who developed the best manual control of a robot was team “Unitel-1” from the School of Information Technology. The team who developed the best design was team Tanan from School of Mechanical Engineering. The team that developed the best technology resolution was team “Telecom Mongolia” from the School of Information and Telecommunications Technology. The team that was most applauded was team “Wall-E” from the Defense University of Mongolia.
