What do the MPs do during the plenary session break?

The Fall Session of the Parliament or the State Great Khural has taken a break and the Members of the Parliament (MPs) are working in the electoral districts. A little time has already passed since the session break, and here is a report of what some MPs have been doing as taken from the local news.

MP A.Bakei:

During the Fall Session break, MP A.Bakei is working in his electoral district, Bayan-Ulgii Province. He is also preparing to submit the draft bills on education and to protect the health of livestock.

MP Su.Batbold:

The former Prime Minister of Mongolia, Su.Batbold, is currently in Ulaanbaatar. He is part of the working group to study whether or not to make amendments to the Constitution of Mongolia and the law on political parties, formed by the decision of the Speaker of the Parliament. The studies are being made and developed on the above mentioned draft bills during the break of the Fall Session. Studies are also being made on the draft laws on land which will be brought into the discussion during the Fall Session of the Parliament. MP Su.Batbold will start working in his electoral district from the first half of March.

MP Z.Bayanselenge:

Within the operation of the Standing Committee, Z.Bayanselenge is to work in the eastern and central provinces from next Monday. She will introduce the work of the Standing Committee on Social Policy, Education, Culture, and Science; and will supervise and examine the related fields. She will also attend the Summit of Women which will be organised in Erdenet City on March 5. The Summit is hosted by the Ministry of Population Development and Social Welfare.

On the weekends, she will be introduced to child issues of female inmates at Detention Centre No. 461 and will take out the orphans to various cultural places. Moreover, Z.Bayanselenge is working on draft bills on welfare for military servants, welfare for mothers who gave birth to many children, family violence, and the renewed version of the draft bill on Civil Health Insurance.

MP J.Batzandan:

MP J.Batzandan has been appointed to work overseas at the moment. He is attending the annual General Assembly meeting of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) on Money Laundering , taking place in Paris, France.

FATF is an inter-governmental body established in 1989 by the ministers of its member jurisdictions. The objectives of the FATF are to set standards and promote effective implementation of legal, regulatory, and operational measures for combating money laundering, terrorist financing, and other related threats to the integrity of the international financial system.

MP L.Erdenechimeg:

-MP L.Erdenechimeg is taking care of her mother in a hospital in Seoul, South Korea. She will get back to work on March 1.
