Prime Minister called on UN for cooperation

On Thursday the Prime Minister N.Altankhuyag has called on Ms. Sezin Sinanoglu, the UN Resident Coordinator in Mongolia to change views on bilateral cooperation between Mongolia and the UN.

The UN Resident Coordinator in Mongolia, Ms. Sezin Sinanoglu, expressed special thanks to the Prime Minister at the beginning of the meeting. Ms.Sezin Sinanoglu stated that the UN wanted to coordinate four key themes including sustainable economic development, access to governance, human rights and social services during a presentation of a plan for a development framework which is to be launched in Mongolia.

Ms. Sezin Sinanoglu also noted that the Government`s leadership is essential for the cooperation to be successful.

The Prime Minister stated the four key proposals by the UN in Mongolia coincide with the Government`s main targets and are assured the government will cooperate with the UN.

The Prime Minister said that the Government builds on the progress achieved through new challenges that the country and its people may face in the years to come.

He continued saying that he hopes the Millennium Development Goals will be implemented and will not be just slogan words.
