70 players compete in Chin van Handdorj Chess Tournament

Over 70 chess players, including six Grand Masters, 19 FIDE masters, and more than 20 sports masters and sub masters have competed in the Chin Van Handdorj rapid chess tournament, which was named after Mongolia’s first Minister of Foreign Affairs. The tournament was held on the occasion of the 101st anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic service in Mongolia, and took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on December 22 and 23. It was the 22nd Chin Van Handdorj tournament.

The top five place-winners were: U.Nasanjargal, G.Munkhgal, B.Khatanbaatar, Ts.Batchuluun, and D.Erkhembayar. International Master B.Munguntuul and senior player J.Lhagva were granted the Best Player prizes.

International Master T.Battsetseg, senior diplomat sub-master Ya.Dashnyam and N.Nyamjav represented the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the tournament.
