Mongolian Draughts Players Shine at Asian Championships

The Asian Draughts Championship 2012 was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from November 20-25. Mongolian Team concluded the tournament with a very satisfying achievement of winning Gold, Silver and Bronze medals in both Men’s and Women’s categories.

In the Senior Men’s category, Mongolian player G.Ganjargal took the Gold medal, followed by Mongolian player D.Erdenebileg. The bronze medal went to another Mongolian, O.Tuvshinbold.

Mongolian Women’s players also had outstanding performances. M.Nyamjargal took a Gold Medal in the Senior Women’s category, while E.Mandakhnaran earned a Bronze Medal.

Draughts players of included a total of eight Asian countries including, Mongolia, China, Japan, Thailand, Uzbekistan and Singapore. The tournament and the championships were held in Seniors, Juniors and Youth categories. There were also Rapid and Blitz Tournaments.

Mongolian Team competed in the Asian Championships comprised of 36 players and the team ranked First with the overall results of 5 Gold Medals.

Mongolian young draught players also successfully competed in this tournament and many became Asian Champions; O.Enkhbat in Junior Boys Division, Ts.Otgonbileg in Cadet Boys (14-16 age) Division, D.Odontuya in Cadet Girls Division, and B.Sugarragchaa in Mini Girls (11-13 age) Division.

Also, A.Dashbayar took Silver and B.Munkhjinwon the Bronze Cadet Girls Division. G.Kherlenmurun also was awarded the Silver in Mini Girls Division and T.Ganchimeg won the Bronze Medal in Hope Girls Division (7-10 age).
