Action plan to develop Ulaanbaatar city approved

A special meeting for the Capital City Citizens" Representative"s Khural was held with 80 percent attendance on 15th November. During the meeting the Governor of the Capital City and Mayor of Ulaanbaatar, Erdene Bat-Uul, introduced the action plan for 2013-2016.

The Governor of the Capital City and Mayor of Ulaanbaatar’s action plan is based on the Democratic party`s action plan developed for the upcoming City Citizens Representatives Council Elections. The City Mayor Bat-Uul claims the action plan aims to encourage the state’s role that is expected to provide good and safe living conditions for citizens.

The purpose of the action is to break the cycle of corruption, make transparent the activities of public services and set up a new system of citizen complaint based action.

The action plan will develop a draft project to join ger districts with infrastructure circuits in order to turn ger districts into apartment district by doing partial planning.

The general planning to develop ger districts into apartment districts will be developed partially in districts and khoroos over six years.

A power station using the latest technology will be build in the eastern part of Ulaanbaatar city, УС-15, on the west side of Bayankhoshuu and the north side of Tavan buudal.

The ger districts of Sharkhad, Amgalan, Orbit, Tolgoit, Khailaast and Doloonbuudal will be joined to sewage systems according to the action plan.

The general plan on the development of Ulaanbaatar city for 2030 aims to encourage apartment building programs in order to expand housing capacity. The plan is expected to provide 58 percent of the city’s population with central or partial heated apartments, 20 percent with self-maintained resource and the rest with apartments equipped with new standard heating technology.

The Governor of the Capital City and Mayor of Ulaanbaatar, Erdene Bat-Uul, needs 16.5 trillion MNT to act on the action plan in the city over the coming four years.

The City Major believes that he should pursue a policy to cooperate with international projects and programs to raise such a big investment to bolster the planned city budget.
