‘Divine Chingis Khan’ Exhibition at Governmental Palace

The opening of the ‘Divine Chinggis Khan’ exhibition took place at the State History Museum on October 24.

The Prime Minister of Mongolia, N.Altankhuyag, officiated at the opening and stated “For over two hundred years from 13th century, half of the world was led by Mongolians. None of the ancestors of current 200 countries in the world has ruled this many people for two centuries. The people of that time were awed by the potential of Mongolians and the speed of Mongol horses as Chinggis Khan ruled the people of Mongolia in such a wise and organized manner. If we use our strength and potential from that time once again, our home country will be significantly enhanced in every way. It is the duty of every citizen of Mongolia to pass down the Mongolian blood, Mongolian spirit and Mongolian tradition to their next generation.”

The exhibition, dedicated to the 850th anniversary of Chinggis Khan’s Birth, embodies various rare and magnificent artefacts such as gold coins with the inscription of “Chinggis Khan The Great” minted in 1221; the belt of Jamukha who was once esteemed by Chinggis Khan as a brother and became the chief rival against Chinggis Khan for the throne; the arms and weapons of Mongolian Empire warriors; and a gold goblet, silver coins and other artefacts of historical significance.

The Government Press Media Department has reported that the ‘Divine Chinggis Khan’ exhibition will last for a whole month. Those who would like to see these artefacts of great historical significance may visit the museum inside the Government Palace at 10-13:00 and 14-16:00 everyday, apart from Mondays.
