MASTER PLAN FOR "SAINSHAND" INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX APPROVED

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ At its regular meeting held on Monday, the cabinet discussed and approved a master plan for the "Sainshand" industrial complex.

Then, a decision was made to establish the state-owned "Sainshand" industrial complex company to bear responsibilities for managing the master plan and the complex's construction works and everyday works for realizing the plan. Necessary capital will be placed in the state and local budgets to work out a technical and economic justification and graphic of the industrial complex and to construct the infrastructure. The cabinet also made decisions to alter related laws and resolutions on creating a legal environment for the complex and its investment, and to discuss a draft decision on supporting the complex's establishment with economic and tax policies in the third quarter of this year. In addition, financial resources will be placed in the state and local budgets to work out technical and economic justification for developing small- and middle-sized productions.

The master plan has been drawn up, dividing into 12 sections. In accordance with the plan, factories of coke coal, copper-melting, iron ball and cement will be constructed, and comprehensive industries of freight transportation will be developed because it is expected the complex will transport 12 million tons raw materials and 7 million processed products a year.

It is projected that over 10 thousand new job places will be created in the industrial complex in the first turn, and some 2,400 job places will be created in the stage of utilization. A small town with a population of 21 thousand people will be erected near the complex. It has been calculated that money of USD 9.3 billion is required to establish the industrial complex.
