Economy key issue in Mongolia vote

Growing gap between wealthy and poor on the minds of many voters as country prepares to elect new parliament.

Mongolians vote on Thursday to elect a new parliament.

A mining boom, spurred by foreign investors, has generated vast wealth, and one of the parliament's tasks will be to manage a rapidly expanding economy.

But few of the rewards are trickling down to the nation's poorest. The capital city, Ulaanbaatar, is ringed with slums, and for over a million people who have moved there in recent years, the search for a better life has proved a struggle.
