AMBASSADOR T.JANABAZAR MEETS LAO VICE MINISTER OF AGRICULTURE

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ On March 16, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to Laos T.Janabazar met with the Lao Vice-Minister of Agriculture and Forestry. They have considered as necessity to reach an agreement on developing the bilateral collaboration of agriculture in planting rice in Laos and breeding sheep in Mongolian territory for Laos.

The two sides have noted about a successful visit to a delegation of the Mongolia's Agricultural Ministry paid to Laos this month and the Mongolian delegation has got acquainted with activities of land farms in Champasak and Savannakhet states.

During the visit, the sides have established a protocol to plant rice for the Mongolian side on up to 500 hectares area and to test planting of the best sorts of rice on five hectares area on Lao territories. This protocol has been signed by L.Bayartulga, a department head of the Mongolia's Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry; and Mintatip Chaupengsai, a department head of the Lao Ministry of Agriculture.

The two countries have agreed to study opportunities of planting coffee, tea, sugar cane, rubber and tree, and then shared views on doing business in the Savan-Seno Special Economic Zone.
