Striking teachers, Government still negotiating

Kindergarten and secondary school teachers who have been on strike since December 12 are still in negotiations to end the strike.

Representatives of the Employers United Association, the Trade Union of Education, Culture and Science, and the Temporary Teachers’ Strike Committee met with Social Welfare and Labor Minister T.Gandi on Thursday, but no final agreement was reached.

The Employers United Association says it’s possible an agreement will be reached on Friday. Meanwhile, health care workers, including doctors, planned to hold a demonstration on Friday to demand salary increases. Teachers and health care workers plan to hold a joint demonstration at Sukhbaatar Square at noon on December 20.
