History of diplomatic corps is subject of conference

In connection with the 100th anniversary of the founding of Mongolia’s diplomatic service on December 29, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade is holding a conference examining the history of the service on December 15. The conference is called “Modern Diplomatic Service of Mongolia – A Centennial.”

Advisors to the president and prime minister, MPs, ministry employees, and researchers and scholars from the International Study Institute of the Science Academy, the National University of Mongolia, the Strategic Research Institute, the University of Defense, the Research Institute of Defense, and the Geopolitics Institute will take part in the conference.

O.Batsaikhan, an international studies researcher at the Science Academy, will read a paper entitled “National Freedom Revolution of Mongolia in 1911 and Bogd Javzandamba VIII.” Ambassador and senior diplomat T.Tumurkhuleg will read a paper entitled “Policy and Positions of Great Countries toward the Mongolian Empire of Bogd Khaan.” Researcher Baabar will read a paper entitled “Foreign Policy of Mongolia from 1928 to 1945.” Ambassador J.Choinkhor will read a paper entitled “Foreign Policy of Mongolia from 1966 to 1990.”

Ambassador Ts.Gombosuren will read a paper entitled “Foreign Policy Features in the Beginning of Reform Period.” Strategic Research Institute Director D.Ganbat will read a paper entitled “Basic Principle of National Security Ideology.” Special Proxy Ambassador B.Batkhishig will read a paper entitled “Some Issues of Foreign Policy Ideology.” Geopolitics Institute Director D.Myagmar will read a paper entitled “Geopolitics, Security and New Conditions.” And the International Study Department Rector of the National University of Mongolia, J.Bayasakh, will read a paper entitled “Mongolia and China Relations over 60 Years.”

Students who won the “Foreign Policy of Mongolia” contest will be honored at the event.
