CW-GP says it supports teachers’ strike

The Civil Will-Green Party (CW-GP) issued a note on Wednesday saying the party supports teachers who have been on strike since December 12.

The note says the Government recommended that teachers’ salaries triple between 2008 and 2012, but so far their salaries have increased by just 30 percent. It says the average salary of a kindergarten teacher is MNT 200,000 and of a secondary school teacher MNT 300,000.

The note also cites an agreement the Government made to increase salaries twice by March 2012.

But the note says the Government has reneged, which is the reason for the strike. It says the Government is responsible for the strike because it failed to implement its own policies and agreements.
