CABINET NEWS IN BRIEF

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The Cabinet meeting on Wednesday decided to submit to parliament a new wording of the law on mental health.


Aims of the draft are to determine the state principles and policy on preventing, guarding and supporting people's mental health, to save rights of the metaly-ill people, to support their participation in social and economic ties, and others.

By the end of 2010, there were 112.9 thousand mentally ill ones, of them 22 thousand are treated under hospitals' control, 15 percent of the disabled were the mentally ill.

- The Cabinet decided to set up “Water-MGL” state property industry. The industry will be in charge of water reserve management, of utilization, repair and servicers of built by the state and budget money water constructions. The Cabinet obliged the Minister of Nature environment and tourism and the head of the State property committee to approve rules o the industry and to control its activities.

- The Cabinet decided to discuss with related parliamentary Standing committees a matter on establishing diplomatic relations with Republic of Malviya, South Sudan and Independent state of Samoa.

- The Cabinet decided that the central office of Mongolia's Tax administration must be guarded by the domestic troops. The same protection will be given to water supply resources in Khovd, Orkhon and Omnogobi aimags, to hydroelectric power station of Dorgon, to the third and fourth thermal power stations. Apart of this, the police contractual protection will be working at trade markets of “Narantuul”, “Kharkhorin”, “Da Khuree”, “Khuchit shonkhor”, and at coal mining of Tavan tolgoi, at gold-copper deposit of Oyu tolgoi, and at Erdenet corporation.
