Scholars discuss nature and environment of Ulaanbaatar

Ulaanbaatar Nature Protection Office and the Ecology Technology Development School are jointly organizing a research conference on Wednesday.


Teachers and scholars from the National University of Mongolia and the University of Agriculture are taking part in the conference.

A.P.Saveliev, director of the Hunting Institute of Russia, is reading a paper entitled “Experience and Results of Beaver Introduction in Euro Asia.” The conference is also discussing the properties of Ulaanbaatar’s soil, the results of pollution research, pastureland soil deterioration, desertification research, the capital’s “green zone,” water reserves of the city, and its pollution. The participants will also discuss ways to reduce air pollution, and increase plants and animals in the green zone.
