MPP, DP caucuses to discuss election structure
The MPP caucus in Parliament discussed the DP caucus’s election proposal and decided to discuss the issue with the DP caucus again.
However, the MPP says it cannot accept the DP’s proposal to create 26 electoral districts. MPP caucus chairman U.Enkhtuvshin said that if 26 electoral districts were created, the mistakes of the 2008 election could be repeated.
The MPP caucus also decided to propose increasing the number of electoral districts in Ulaanbaatar, since 45 percent of the population lives in the city. It also decided to create districts according to territory, and not only according to population.
Glaciers were counted, of which 182 are in Bayan-Ulgii aimag, 7 in Khovd, 33 in Uvs and Gobi-Altai, and one each in Zavkhan and Khuvsgul aimags.
A total of 34,313 wells have been counted in the country, as well as 226 underground water reserves.
