FOREIGN MINISTER GIVES SPEECH AT NTBT MEETING

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The Mongolia's Minister of Foreign Affairs G.Zandanshatar delivered a speech on Mongolian position on the test of nuclear tests, at the 7th meeting on validating the Nuclear Test-Ban Treaty (NTBT) held September 23 in New York. The UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon highlighted an importance to work under a goal for valid the Treaty by the year 2012. He urged those countries that have not ratified the Treaty into joining it.

As of today, the Treaty has joined 155 countries, and it is needed to be signed and ratified by China, Egypt, the North Korea, India, Indonesia, Iran, Israel, Pakistan and the USA. The gathered at the meeting approved a declaration on calling countries to validate the NTBT.
