Long song competition held in Mongolia

The first Mongolian “long song” contest was held last weekend in Khui Doloon Khudag. More than 80 people between the ages of 11 and 81 took part in the competition.


They were divided into professional and amateur categories.

G.Enkhbaatar, a singer at the State Song and Dance Ensemble, won first prize in the professional category. Oyun-Erdene, who came from Umnugobi, won first prize in the amateur category.

The judges were Ts.Batchuluun, the State Actor and general conductor at the Mongolian Horse Head Fiddle Ensemble, J.Nergui, State Actress, and D.Tuvshinjargal, Distinguished Actor.

The event was organized by Ajnai Corporation; the Department of Culture and Art at the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science; the Committee of Culture and Art at the Implementing Agency of the Mongolian Government; the National Song and Dance Ensemble; and the Music and Dance College and Drawling Song Union.
