Private sector dominates list of Top 100 companies in Mongolia

Companies in the private sector dominate the recently published 10th annual list of the top 100 businesses in Mongolia, compiled jointly by the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Mongolian Government.

Ranking is determined by revenue, employment, investment, taxes paid and contribution to social responsibility. Private enterprises accounted for 88 percent of all those employed in 2010, and were responsible for generating around 80 percent of Mongolia’s GDP.

The top 20 companies are Erdenet, the MCS Group, Mongolian Alt, Energy Resources, APU, NIK, MobiCom, Boroo Gold, Tavan Tolgoi JSC, the JUST Group, Petrovis, Magnai Trade, the Sodmongol Group, Monnis Intetnational, Nomin Holdings, Wagner Asia, the Shunkhlai Group, Tsairt Mineral, the Tavan Bogd Group, and Power Plant No. IV.
