Mongolia and law on electronic signature

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The parliamentary Standing committee on law has considered as necessity to discuss the draft amendments to the laws on electronic signature, on civil matter, on special licenses of enterprisers, on tax, on state registration of legal persons, on civil registration, on money accounts of banks and legal persons, and on payment and credit activities.

The initiators of the amendment to the law on electronic signature has underlined:"Although the IT sector has been intensively developing in Mongolia, an opportunity does not exists to exploit benefits of IT's development and progress due to lack of a legal regulation for the IT sector. This might affect the country's development."
"Mongolia needs to create a legal environment for the electronic signature," they went on. As they expect, the draft amendment to the law on electronic signature will create a legal environment for running E-negotiations by using IT achievements, and will contribute to increasing of domestic and external trade, accelerating of the socio-economic development.

The initiators of the amendments have introduced their reports to the Deputy Premier M.Enkhbold.

  1. Its the need of the hour to make amendments in the laws regarding digital signatures.its good to know that Mongolia Govt.feels the need to create a legal environment for the electronic signature.Such amendments are welcome.Looking forward to more information.
