Top university sportspeople selected

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ Mongolia's University Sports Federation (MUSF) has selected the top students--sportsmen, sportswomen and a team of the year 2010. On Tuesday, the top ones received prizes in the Central Sports Palace.

A Grand Master for chess B.Mongontuul has been selected as the best student sportswoman. She has won two gold medals in individual and team events of the 11th World University Chess Championship in September 5-12 in Zurich, Switzerland.

A State Honored Sportsman and a cadet of the Police Academy N.Togstsogt has become the top student sportsman of this year. He has won a gold medal in the 4th World University Boxing Championship which was held October 4-10 in Ulaanbaatar. He also has been named as the best boxer of the competitions.

The MUSF has named the best university team. A men's basketball team from the Institute of Trade and Production (ITP) has been selected as such for winning a bronze medal in the Asian Basketball University Championships in October 3-8 in Chinese Taipei. Some members of this team successfully participated in the 16th Asian Games defeating national teams of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.

A coach of the ITP's selected team for basketball Ts.Tseverbal has been named as the best coach. Special prizes of the MUSF have gone to D.Bandi, a senior coach of the boxing national team, and to P.Jigjidsuren, a senior coach for chess of the MUSF.
