Peter Ramsauer, Minister for Transport, Construction and Urban Development of Federal Republic of Germany: Mongolian coal and other mineral will be exported to EU

P.Ramsauer: During the meeting I expressed my belief in the increase of export from Mongolia to EU. Coal and other minerals will be exported. Railway transportation is best for these minerals. Therefore, both sides agreed to focus on this field. Consequently, we talked about possibilities of building railroad from Mongolia to EU through Russia, as part of the development of infrastructure and railway.

Q: What will be you proposal for the Mongolian side?

P.Ramsauer: I am hopeful that very clear resolution will be made. I would like to request the Mongolian side to cooperate with the German companies in building and developing railway industry. I should emphasize here that these German companies gained rich experienced in the field.

Q: “Deutsche Bahn”, a leading German company in the railway development business, made its proposal to cooperate in building railroad. Has any solid decision made so far?

P.Ramsauer: Yes, there is. Last year, parties made agreement on this issue and reached common understanding. Now, we are going into details. I am accompanied by delegates of many companies, which are experienced in railroad building issues, such as Siemens Logistics, Deutsche Gleis and so on. Also other companies in relationship with railroad building, such as planners, wagon carriage and locomotive producers, are here in with me. In one word, we will propose profound solution to develop this sector in whole.
