SPEAKER VISITS SCHOOL AND LEAVES FOR AIMAGS

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ Parliament Speaker D.Demberel attended Wednesday an opening of the academic year in the #106 secondary school in the city's Songinokhairkhan district. Located in a ger area, this school has become the first

E-secondary school in the district.

D.Demberel took part in a ribbon-cutting ceremony and congratulated the school's pupils and teachers on the new academic year. He underlined that the state has paid a great attention to improving environment for pupils and to bringing training programs into international standards adding that the state tries to provide all primary schools pupils with textbooks.

The Speaker wished the pupils to become the citizens who respect nation's traditions, custom and motherland. "A love for motherland begins from respecting parents, and a learning begins from respecting teachers," D.Demberel said and appealed to teachers and parents to encourage the children interests and talents and to work innovatively.

D.Demberel mentioned that 45 thousand pupils are studying in vocational training centers this academic and that they will receive scholarships.

After this ceremony, the Speaker visited some classrooms.

The four-storey secondary school was built with a non-refundable aid from Japan, and was put into use in 2008. In previous times, investments of MNT 168 million were made to the school to improve environment.

The same day, the Speaker left for Dornod and Sukhbaatar aimags to work September 1-7. In frames of his tour, D.Demberel will get au fait with the aimags' soums, organizations and entities and will meet locals.
He plans to introduce the local people to decisions made by the State Great Khural and to receive opinions. In addition, he will visit sites of oil exploration and extraction and will get au fait with border protection matters.

The Speaker has been accompanied by Ts.Shinebayar, D.Odbayar, P.Altangerel, Ch.Ulaan, R.Bud MPs; by D.Davaasambuu, an advisor to the Speaker; B.Zolbayar, head of the parliamentary media and public service, and by some administrative officials of the Border Protection Authority, the General Authority of Specialized Inspection; and Oil Authority.
