MONGOLIA-GERMANY CONSULTATIVE MEETING HELD

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The 4th Mongolia-Germany consultative meeting on economic policy was held Wednesday in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia. Present the meeting were representatives of the Mongolia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Road, Transportation, Construction and Urban Development, the Committee for National Development and Reform and the Center of Standardization and Measurement (CSM), and representatives of the Germany's Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology.

The sides shared views on a present situation of the economic development in the two countries, the bilateral cooperation in trade and economics and further measures.

The Mongolian side expressed a willingness to cooperate with the Federal Republic of Germany in manufacturing final products by processing rare mineral elements and exporting them to foreign countries, developing high technology productions, infrastructure for high technologies and their financial structure.
Mongolia also wants to introduce the best technologies of Germany and knowhow.

The two sides exchanged views on intensifying the bilateral cooperation in the infrastructure sector such as road, construction and transportation. In addition to it, Mongolia gave a report to the Germany's side on the biggest infrastructure projects to be realized in Mongolia, and appealed to German companies for actively participating in the great construction works.

In frames of a goal initiated by the government of Mongolia to introduce European standards and normative, the CSM will cooperate with the Germany's Standardization Institute and the Federal Department for Physics and Techniques.

At the end of the meeting, the sides signed a joint protocol on the consultative meeting's consequences, and then agreed to hold the next consultative meeting in 2011 in Berlin city, Germany.
