Vietnam, Mongolia promote parliamentary cooperation

Regular exchanges between the Vietnamese and Mongolian parliaments have helped strengthen cooperative relations between the two countries, said Deputy Speaker of the Mongolian Parliament G.Batkhuu.

At a recent reception for a delegation of Vietnamese and Mongolian members of parliament (MPs), Mr Batkhuu praised the activities of the two groups of friendship MPs and said that the speaker of the Mongolian Parliament, D. Demberel, is due to visit Vietnam in December.

Mongolia wants to learn from Vietnam’s experience in socio-economic development as it sees the country as a driving force behind its new period of economic development.

During the visit to Mongolia from August 16-21, the delegation held talks with the Chair of the Vietnam-Mongolia Friendship Parliamentary Group, J. Enkhbayar, and discussed issues of common concern with the Director of the Committee for Social, Educational, Cultural and Scientific Policy D. Avrin.

The Vice Chairman of the Vietnam National Assembly Committee for Social Affairs, Luong Van Cu said that the visit would contribute to expanding the time-honoured friendship between the two legislative bodies and that Vietnam is more than willing to share its experiences with Mongolia in areas the country is interested in.
